Belkis Plata Receives The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Pro Bono Service Award

On January 30, 2020, at the Florida Supreme Court, Belkis Plata received The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Pro Bono Service Award.

The award recognized more than 200 hours of pro bono work, including service as a volunteer attorney ad litem for children in foster care; work with Jacksonville Area Legal Aid on name-change clinics, family law, and Ask-a-Lawyer events; and her long-time involvement with Take Stock in Children and Year Up. The Jacksonville Daily Record also profiled Belkis in its “Leaders in the Law” series as the award’s recipient.
