Belkis Plata on the Arrest of HaLeigh Cummings’ Father
When HaLeigh Cummings’ father was arrested in Putnam County, News4JAX asked Belkis Plata for legal context. Belkis, who is not involved in the case, explained that law enforcement sometimes uses an arrest on a lesser charge as an opportunity to seek information about a larger case. She expected prosecutors would again ask about anything he may know about his daughter’s disappearance, and predicted he would not receive the minimum sentence this time.
