Plata Schott Law Named to the 2027 Best Law Firms® Rankings
Plata Schott Law has been recognized in the 2027 edition of Best Law Firms®, published by Best Lawyers. The firm is ranked Regional Tier 1 in Jacksonville for Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs, the highest regional tier, and this is the firm's second consecutive Best Law Firms recognition.
What Best Law Firms is
Best Law Firms is now in its 17th edition. This year's rankings cover 127 practice areas and 188 metropolitan areas across the United States. A firm cannot nominate itself into a tier. To be considered, a firm must first have at least one lawyer recognized in The Best Lawyers in America®, and the ranking itself is built from client references, peer evaluations from other lawyers, interviews with industry leaders and a review of the firm's own data. More than 110,000 client references were submitted for the 2027 edition.
In plain terms: this recognition comes from the people who have worked with us, and from the lawyers who have sat across the table from us.
What it means for the families we represent
We are a small firm by design. Belkis Plata and Shannon Schott handle their own cases, return their own calls and prepare every matter as if it will be tried. Both partners are Board Certified in Juvenile Law by The Florida Bar, and the firm is women-owned, military-owned and Latina-owned, with a bilingual team serving Jacksonville and Northeast Florida.
A ranking does not win a case. But for a family deciding who to trust after a wrongful death, a serious injury or a child's arrest, it is one more independent signal that the firm they are calling is respected by its clients and its peers.
