Charles Faggart's Family Gets a Court Date in Their Fight for Jail Video
After Sheriff T.K. Waters said the video leading up to Charles Faggart's death would not be released while the federal investigation continues, attorney Belkis Plata responded on behalf of the Faggart family.
Belkis announced that the court has set an evidentiary hearing in the family's public-records lawsuit for August 3, 2026. The family has been asking for more than a year for the jail surveillance video, incident reports, and investigative records. At the hearing, the court will consider whether the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office improperly withheld those records.
